8 Things to do in Cleveland This Spring
It's hard to believe that spring is upon us here in Cleveland, Ohio with the weather we have been experiencing lately. At the Cobos Insurance Center we like to be on the optimistic side, so we wanted to highlight eight fun things that you could do with your family this spring in Cleveland! We hope this helps make your spring that much more enjoyable.
Cleveland Metro Parks Zoo
If you’re looking for things to do in Cleveland with your kids this spring, look no further than the Cleveland Metro Parks Zoo. From the African Elephant Crossing to Waterfowl Lake, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. They even have an educational program called “Inside Tracks” where the Cleveland Metro Parks website says you can come alongside the zoo staff for a 90-minute program where you will hear fun facts and learn all about the animals. You can basically get a behind the scenes look at what goes into running the zoo.

Canal Boat Ride
The Ohio & Erie Canal way is the perfect place to go if you are looking for an outdoor activity. This canal is long. 110 miles long, to be exact. From biking to hiking to bird watching, there is so much to do. This area is a National Heritage Area, which means that congress designated the area to be preserved, so go enjoy the nature that has been preserved. Bring your family, walk some trails, and don’t forget your camera so you can take advantage of all of the amazing photo opportunities.
MAPS Air Museum
This museum of aviation has artifacts, historical archives and interactive exhibits. A few of the specific exhibits include Pearl Harbor, Bomber Aircrafts, Rosie the Riveter and Trainer Aircrafts. This is one of the perfect things to do in Cleveland (or near Cleveland at least) this spring for anyone who is interested in aircrafts or even any history buffs out there. Although it is located in North Canton, which is outside of Cleveland, it is a must-see for anyone interested in these types of things. Go check out this unique museum today!
Cleveland Indians Baseball Game
Who doesn’t love a good baseball game? Whether you’re a die-hard baseball fan or someone who never watches sports, an MLB game is something you have to experience at least once in your life and it should definitely be on your list of things to do in Cleveland this spring. Grab some friends or family and head over to Progressive field for some good, old-fashioned baseball. It is America’s favorite pastime, of course.
West Side Market
This market in Cleveland is the oldest publicly owned market. The West Side Market has over 100 ethnically diverse vendors… which means LOTS of good food amongst other things. If you’re looking for a sweet snack you can head to Theresa’s Bakery. Hungry for lunch? Head to the Ohio City Pasta vendor for some amazing pasta. Want to surprise the date you brought? Head to Ohio City Flowers. We could go on and on, but there are many more and you can find the full list on their website. The market was even featured on the Travel Channel and Food Network, so you know it’s the real deal.
Cleveland Botanical Gardens
What better place to be when everything is blooming than the Cleveland Botanical Gardens? I can’t think of many things to do in Cleveland this spring that would be better than seeing all of the beautiful plants, trees and flowers blooming. Not only do you get to see the blooming flowers, there is also the Eleanor Armstrong Glasshouse which features two different climates: The desert of Madagascar and the rainforest of Costa Rica. It can be as educational as it is entertaining.
Home to schools, a church, over 20 galleries and many restaurants, Little Italy is a small, historical area with many things to do, see, buy and eat. This place is especially known for their Italian food and art galleries. The Little Italy village hosts the city’s art walks, the Columbus Day Parade, Taste of Italy and more. I couldn’t think of many things to do in Cleveland this spring that are better than good Italian food and walking around seeing all of the cool things that there are to experience here.
Greater Cleveland Aquarium
This aquarium is home to eight galleries and over fifty exhibits. The exhibits allow you to “visit” places like Australia and Africa, showing you aquatic life that is native to all parts of the world. They even have live daily feedings at 3:30 p.m. every day for different animals. From tortoise encounters to stingray feeds, you’ll want to head to the website and check out all that the Greater Cleveland Aquarium has to offer. Add this to your list of things to do in Cleveland this spring, especially if you have kids. There are so many cool things for them to see and a plus for parents… It can be educational too! Teach your kids about aquatic life while keeping them entertained. It’s a win-win situation for everyone.
